This anthem is the manifesto of the War of Independence, given by all members of our nation with the same excitement and faith. In the justification of the Turkish National Anthem, which is read, memorized and shouted with the same belief and enthusiasm today, in every line of the Turkish National Anthem, there are common values of civilization, love of homeland and flag, “written 100 years ago and dedicated to our heroic army by the late poet Akif. On the grounds that the Turkish National Anthem is the epic of a resistance that does not bow to the oppressor, the invader and the colonialist and defies the world, Mehmet Akif Ersoy’s lines represent the spirit of the National Struggle, and is an enthusiasm and excitement that lives every moment not only with its words but also with its meaning and truth. In the justification of the proposal, it was stated that the Turkish National Anthem, the great poet and prosecutor Mehmet Akif Ersoy, is a monumental work that reflects the spirit and determination of the National Struggle that continues all over Anatolia and at the same time brings enthusiasm and excitement to that great struggle. – “The Turkish National Anthem is the epic of a resistance that challenges the world” Throughout 2021, all public institutions and organizations will organize the acceptance of the Turkish National Anthem and commemoration of Mehmet Akif Ersoy with the participation of the public and non-governmental organizations in order to explain the meaning of the Turkish National Anthem and the importance of the War of Independence. With the arrangement, 2021 will be “the year of the National Anthem”. In this context, the regulation that includes the addition of a temporary article to the Law on the Acceptance of the National Anthem and the Day of Remembrance of Mehmet Akif Ersoy was added to the bill.
